Car Ignites and Explodes on Creek Road
Firefighters raced to Creek Road, Hayling Island, on Tuesday 1st August after a car burst into flames and exploded. The blast destroyed a garage and caused serious damage to the adjoining house.
Fire Crews Swiftly Contain the Blaze
Three fire crews from Hayling Island and Havant arrived on scene. Using two jets and a high-pressure hose reel, they battled the intense fire. Their quick action prevented the blaze from gutting the entire property, stopping flames that had spread to the eaves.
Witness Describes Dramatic Scene
Barbara Clark, who saw the incident unfold, said: “Everyone is OK, but the car blew up in the driveway, took out an external wall, and set light to the eaves of the property.”
Situation Brought Under Control
With three engines in attendance, firefighters fully controlled the fire with no reported injuries.
