Chimney Fire Blazes in Saltwood Home – No Injuries

Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) tackled a fiery chimney blaze in a Saltwood, Hythe, home on Sunday afternoon. The emergency call came in at 3:56 PM, triggering a rapid response from the fire crews.

Firefighters Race to Scene with Specialist Gear

Three fire engines and a specialist height vehicle rolled up to the property as flames roared up the chimney. Firefighters used chimney kits and powerful hose jets to douse the blaze. The fire was brought under control by 7:18 PM. Thankfully, nobody was hurt in the drama.

Accidental Fire Sparks Safety Warning

KFRS believes the fire started accidentally but used the chance to remind locals to keep chimneys clean. A build-up of soot and debris can turn chimneys into ticking time bombs.
