Coastguard Scrambles to Isle of Wight After Clothing Found

Coastguard teams rushed to the freshwater area on the Isle of Wight this afternoon after clothing was discovered, sparking a serious response.

Two Rescue Teams Deployed

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) sent two rescue teams from Needles and Ventnor to back up Hampshire Police at the scene. The call came at 1:50pm today (7 April) after police requested Coastguard support at Tennyson Down.

Details Kept Under Wraps

An MCA spokeswoman said: “At 1.50pm this afternoon (7 April) Hampshire Police requested assistance from the UK Coastguard at an incident at Tennyson Down, Isle of Wight. Needles and 1 Coastguard Rescue Teams have been sent to the area, alongside Hampshire Police.”
