A man in his 70s was discovered lifeless in a parked vehicle outside the Asda on Exploration Drive, Abbey Lane, Leicester, in the early hours of Saturday, June 7. The grim discovery sparked a major emergency response just after 7am.
Police and Paramedics Rush to Scene
At around 7:10am, emergency services were called after the man was reported unresponsive inside his car. Leicestershire Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service attended swiftly but sadly declared the man dead at the scene.
Eyewitnesses told of a flurry of police cars, a private ambulance, a forensic tent, and a recovery truck creating a heavy presence in the Asda car park, causing shock among shoppers.
Police Confirm No Suspicious Circumstances
“Shortly after 7.10am on Saturday police were called after a man was found unresponsive in his car in Exploration Drive, Leicester. Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and the man, who is in his 70s, was declared deceased at the scene. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner,” said a Leicestershire Police spokesperson.
