DLR Strikes Set to Wreak Havoc on London Commutes This Week
Londoners brace yourselves! Commuters face major disruptions as the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union workers at TfL operator KeolisAmey Docklands launch strike action. The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) is expected to grind to a halt, forcing many to scramble for alternative travel routes.
Strike Dates to Remember
The DLR will be hit by strikes on Tuesday, November 7, and Thursday, November 9. TfL warns no services will run on these days – leaving commuters stranded if they don’t plan ahead.
DLR Chaos: No Trains, Big Delays
TfL’s chief operating officer Glynn Barton said, “Strikes are bad news for everyone.” He urged passengers to check before you travel, consider alternative routes, and leave extra time. Even the few services that do run will be delayed or finish early.
Thankfully, other London transport modes will keep running as normal, including the Tube, Overground, Elizabeth line, buses, and even the IFS Cloud Cable Car.
Why the Walkout?
The strike stems from ongoing disputes over pay and working conditions at KeolisAmey Docklands. With no resolution in sight, the RMT has taken a tough stance – hitting commuters in the process.
Commuters are urged to stay updated and seek alternatives to dodge the DLR disruption.
