Motorists beware! The Dartford Crossing is heading for a week of major overnight closures. From Tuesday, April 22 to the early hours of Monday, April 29, essential maintenance and contraflow works will slam shut the northbound tunnels and the QEII Bridge. Expect serious delays if you don’t plan ahead.

When and Where: Full Closure Schedule

  • Tuesday 22 April – Wednesday 23 April: A282 Northbound Dartford Crossing East Tunnel closed, 10pm–5:30am. Maintenance works ongoing. Diversions via National Highways network.
  • Thursday 24 April – Friday 25 April: Same as above – East Tunnel shut overnight, 10pm–5:30am. Maintenance continues with signed diversions.
  • Saturday 26 April – Sunday 27 April: East Tunnel closed 9:30pm–5am for contraflow works. Plus, QEII Bridge southbound carriageway shut 10pm–5am with contraflow on East Tunnel.
  • Sunday 27 April – Monday 29 April: Final stretch of East Tunnel closures, 10pm–5:30am. Maintenance delays expected. Diversions in place.
