Major Search Underway After Person Spotted in Thames Near Tower Bridge
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
A huge multi-agency operation kicked off just before 5pm on Thursday, March 27, after reports of someone in the River Thames near Tower Bridge. The call to HM Coastguard triggered an immediate response from the Metropolitan Police, City of London Police, London Coastguard, and specialist paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.
Units arrived swiftly at around 5:30pm, with specialist marine and rescue teams coordinating the search along the riverbank.

A London Ambulance Service source confirmed HART paramedics joined the effort to find the individual. A spokesperson said:
“We were called at 4:58pm today to reports of a person in the water near Tower Bridge. We sent a number of resources to the scene, including paramedics and our HART team. The incident remains ongoing.”
Riverside Walkway Cordoned Off
Police have sealed off a stretch of the Thames riverside walkway while search teams scour the water using boats, floodlights, and thermal imaging gear. Eyewitnesses reported a visible heavy emergency presence, but as of 6pm, no confirmation has been made about locating or recovering anyone from the river.
