Portsmouth Pub Throws Open Doors to Homeless for Free Shelter
Generous Landlords Step Up Amid Freezing Forecast
Kind-hearted publicans Colin and Jayne Nash are turning their function room at The Old Barn, behind The Milton Arms, into a warm refuge for Portsmouth’s homeless. With no bookings this Thursday and Friday, and severe weather heading in, the couple decided to act fast.
Warm Beds and Hot Food for Those in Need
The Barn will be vacant, so we want to put it to good use,” Colin and Jayne told Spotted Portsmouth. “From tomorrow morning through Saturday afternoon, we’re opening our doors to anyone homeless needing a roof. There will be heating and free hot food for all.”
Community Calls for Support and Donations
The couple urged locals to spread the word: “Please share this post and let anyone who needs shelter know about this. We’re also asking for donations—sleeping bags, blankets, bedding—to help keep everyone cosy.”
This heartwarming move is a lifeline as temperatures plummet in the city. Let’s get behind Colin and Jayne and help those who need it most.
