Fire crews from Newport station were called into action earlier today when a worried mum accidentally locked her child inside her car outside Pan Stores on the Isle of Wight.

The mum had just returned to her vehicle to unload shopping. In a panic, she realised she had left the car keys in the boot – which then locked automatically, trapping her child inside.

Quick-Thinking Firefighters Save the Day

A fire service spokesman revealed: “We managed to pop the window and then open the door to rescue the child safely.”

“Thankfully the children were full of smiles and were able to clear everything away afterwards.”
