Fire crews from Hightown station rushed to a house fire in Southampton at 5.39pm on Wednesday. Smoke billowed from a property on Lamberhurst Close, sparking urgent action after a neighbour spotted the danger and called emergency services.

Dog Trapped Inside Rescued

Inside the smoke-filled house, firefighters found a dog trapped and quickly pulled the pet to safety. Hightown Fire Station tweeted: “One dog rescued from the fire and reunited with a very relieved owner!

Small Kitchen Blaze Blamed on Forgotten Pan

The fire was traced to a single pan left unattended on the ground floor kitchen stove. Crews tackled the blaze using one Hose Reel Jet, one Main Jet, and two breathing apparatus wearers. Positive Pressure Ventilation (PPV) helped clear thick smoke from the home.

The quick response prevented serious damage and ensured everyone — including the canine — got out safe and sound.
