Fire Breaks Out on Isle of Wight Just Hours After Fire Service Review Rejected
Three fire engines raced to a blaze on Recreation Ground Road, Isle of Wight, on Monday night. Two appliances from Newport and one from Cowes tackled the fire that broke out in an upstairs bedroom shortly after 9.20pm.
Swift Action Keeps Fire in Check
Firefighters in breathing apparatus quickly deployed a hose reel to fight the small but dangerous fire. Thanks to the rapid response by Newport crews, the blaze was contained and prevented from spreading throughout the property.
Property Owner Treated at the Scene
The property owner received medical attention from Isle of Wight ambulance services after the fire was brought under control.
