Fire Erupts at Chinese Takeaway on Bromley Road, Major Emergency Response Underway
Chaos hit Bromley Road this Sunday afternoon as a fierce fire ripped through the kitchen of a popular Chinese Noodle Express. Flames spread quickly to the first floor, sparking a full-scale emergency response.
Blaze Breaks Out in Busy Chinese Takeaway
The fire broke out just before 5pm, with thick black smoke pouring from the building, alarming locals and passersby. Four fire engines and multiple police units were dispatched swiftly to tackle the escalating blaze.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus forced their way inside to tackle the flames that had already moved upstairs. The team used Positive Pressure Ventilation (PPV) to clear smoke from the lower ground floor.
Road Closure and Traffic Chaos as Emergency Crews Battle Fire
The Metropolitan Police closed Bromley Road in both directions to allow fire crews full access to the scene. Traffic is snarled in the area, with drivers urged to find alternative routes.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson on site said:
“Crews responded rapidly to a fire at a commercial property on Bromley Road. The fire began in a commercial kitchen and is now under investigation. Firefighters remain on scene working to bring the fire under control.”
Ambulance Service Called, Cause of Fire Unknown
The London Ambulance Service was also called, though it’s unclear if anyone has been hurt or taken to hospital. The fire’s cause remains a mystery, with a full probe set to begin once the flames are extinguished.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned for updates.
