Blaze Breaks Out at Poundland Warehouse in Worthing

Emergency crews raced to a raging fire at the Poundland warehouse on Montague Street, Worthing this afternoon.

The alarm sounded at 4.08pm, triggering a rapid response from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service. Five fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were dispatched to battle the inferno.

Firefighters Tackle Thick Smoke and Flames

Firefighters, decked out in breathing apparatus, attacked the blaze with two hoses. Thick black smoke poured from the building as crews fought to bring the fire under control.

A fire service spokesperson warned: “There is a lot of smoke in the area, so we would urge people to avoid the area for the time being to allow firefighters to work safely.”

Investigation Underway – No Injuries Reported

At this stage, no injuries have been reported. Authorities are investigating what sparked the warehouse fire.
