Smoke Scare in Flat Sparks Fire Brigade Blitz

Fire crews from St Mary’s, Redbridge, Hightown, and Eastleigh rushed to Windermere Avenue around 1.15pm today. Smoke was billowing from one of the flats and a fire alarm was blaring.

Unattended Cooking Sparks Panic

Firefighters stormed inside and found the smoke was caused by cooking left unattended. They quickly used a ventilation fan to clear the thick smoke.

Quick Action Prevents Disaster

The all-clear came at 1.37pm. Before leaving, crews carried out community safety checks and warned residents:

“Please do not leave your cooking unattended.”
