Five Years On: The Mystery of Missing Mum Georgina Gharsallah

It’s been five years since Georgina Gharsallah vanished without a trace in Worthing, West Sussex. On March 7, 2018, the young mum disappeared, leaving her family and the entire community desperate for answers. Despite extensive police inquiries and searches, Georgina’s whereabouts remain a haunting mystery.

Community United in Search Efforts

Georgina’s disappearance has gripped the town, bringing people together to support her family and push for justice. Sussex Police have been relentless in their investigation but still have no solid leads. The last confirmed sighting was that morning at Clifton Food and Wine on Clifton Road, Worthing.

There was a possible sighting later that day of Georgina crossing Chapel Road with another woman. However, police have been unable to confirm the identities of either woman in footage, and appeals for help continue.

Police Plea: New Information Could Crack Case

“We are as committed today as we were on day one to finding out what happened to Georgina,” said Detective Superintendent Andy Wolstenholme, leading the investigation. “We urge anyone with any information to come forward, no matter how small it seems.”

“Five years is a long time. Some people may have moved away and returned or might now feel ready to speak after all this time. We want to hear from you. We will listen, and every tip will be pursued thoroughly.”

Case Upgraded to Homicide – £20,000 Reward Offered

In August 2019, Georgina’s disappearance was officially treated as a homicide. Crimestoppers is now offering a hefty £20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Det. Supt Wolstenholme said: “Georgina is a much-loved mother, sister, and daughter. It’s completely out of character for her to disappear like this without contact. No activity on her phone or bank accounts points to a worrying possibility that she has come to harm.”

“Although we’ve classified the case as a homicide, we remain open to all possibilities and are dedicated to uncovering the truth.”
