Drunk Trio Caught Strolling on Closed Gallows Corner Flyover in Romford
Three intoxicated men were caught red-handed walking on the Gallows Corner flyover in Romford just half an hour after it was officially closed on Monday night (June 23).
Met Police Spot Boozy Stroll at 9:23pm
At around 9:23pm, Metropolitan Police officers on patrol spotted two men shambling along the flyover while a third filmed them. This was roughly 30 minutes after the closure came into effect. A nearby construction worker also witnessed the trespass.
Walkers Escorted Off with Warning – No Arrests
The police acted swiftly, escorting the drunken group off the flyover and handing out warnings. A Met Police spokesperson confirmed:
“On Monday, June 23 at 9.23pm whilst out on patrol, 123, and there is no further police involvement.”
Thankfully, no injuries were reported and no charges have been filed following the breach.

Transport for London (TfL) has reminded locals to respect the Gallows Corner flyover closure, which is part of an important infrastructure project. Signage and diversions are firmly in place to protect public safety.
Authorities urge residents to report any concerns during the closure. Non-urgent issues should be reported via 101 or the Met Police’s online portal, while emergencies must always be dialled through 999.
