Cyclist Killed in Deptford Hit-and-Run – Police Hunt Silver Mercedes Driver

A man in his fifties has tragically died after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run crash in Deptford. Police rushed to the scene at the junction of Childers Street and Rolt Street, SE8, at 4.14pm on Sunday, 3 June following reports of a collision.

Emergency crews found the cyclist with critical injuries and confirmed his death at the scene. Officers are still working to notify his next of kin.

Silver Mercedes Abandoned at Scene

The vehicle involved, a silver B Class Mercedes, was left abandoned close to the crash site. The driver fled the scene immediately after the collision and remains on the run.

Road Closures in Place

Local roads are currently closed. Motorists are urged to avoid the area until further notice.
