Prison Riot Erupts at HMYOI Aylesbury as Inmates Trash Wing Over Shower Ban
Chaos broke out at HMYOI Aylesbury as young offenders stormed E Wing in a furious riot. Prisoners hurled paint and smashed fire alarms in protest against limited showers and restricted time out of cells.
Inmates Rebel Over Lack of Showers and Lockdown
Four prison officers sustained minor injuries during the unrest at the Buckinghamshire facility. Sources say inmates, fed up with only one shower a week and no weekend association, refused to return to their cells. Some even climbed onto safety netting, refusing to come down.
A woman with a partner inside told us: “There’s a new regime. They get just one shower on Monday, then nothing until Saturday – and no weekend association like playing pool. This morning they were allowed another shower but were told they’d be locked up again with no explanation. That’s when everyone refused to go back.”
‘They Threw Paint and Smashed Fire Alarms’
Her partner stayed out of the trouble, returning to his cell. But others went on the rampage, trashing the wing with paint, smashing fire alarms, and breaking cameras. A prisoner even managed to send pictures of the chaos via a banned mobile phone.
Prison Service Vows Tough Punishments
The Prison Service condemned the disturbances: “Offenders who behave in this way will be punished and may face extra time behind bars.” Despite the chaos, officials claim they are working to restore order and address concerns about regime changes.
