Homeless Duo Pitch Tent Outside Reading Council Offices in Desperate Bid for Shelter

Sleeping Rough to Get a Roof

Two homeless Reading locals in their 30s have set up camp right outside Reading Borough Council’s front doors. They hope their bold move will force the council to step up and provide them with emergency accommodation. The tent first appeared over two weeks ago, after the local authority stopped funding their emergency housing.

Ignored and Forced to Camp Out

Refusing to move on, the pair vow to stay put until the council acts. They told us, “They don’t seem to have any interest. At the minute, the answer is just ‘go away’.” Both asked not to be pictured, fearing backlash but desperate for help.

Any Shelter Will Do

“We are willing to take anything at this stage, just a roof over our head,” they said. With winter approaching, their plight exposes the council’s failure to support vulnerable residents.
