BTCC Team Power Maxed Racing Devastated by Massive Fire at Worcestershire HQ
British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) heavyweight Power Maxed Racing (PMR) has been hit by disaster. A huge blaze ripped through their Worcestershire base on Saturday, reducing their entire operation to smouldering ruins within minutes. Three county fire crews scrambled to the scene just before midday, but despite heroic efforts, the team’s manufacturing centre, stock, and race facilities were completely destroyed. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
Team boss Adam Weaver called the loss “20 years of blood, sweat and tears” turned to ashes. He promised PMR would bounce back stronger than ever:
“This fire won’t beat us. We will be back on track and stronger than ever.”
Racing Rivals Rally to Keep PMR on Track at Knockhill
Showing true paddock spirit, two rival teams have stepped up to help PMR race at Knockhill this weekend (16–17 August).
- The Patterson family has loaned their Cupra, previously driven by Scott Sumpton.
- Un-Limited Motorsport has stood down their car, last raced by Stephen Jelley, allowing PMR to enter a second car.
BTCC organisers TOCA swiftly gave special approval for these loans without disrupting the TBL allocations. This means PMR can carry on in the 2025 championship despite the setback.
PMR Gears Up for a Comeback
Both replacement Cupras will hit the grid in Scotland as PMR fights to finish the season strong. Weaver revealed that rebuilding plans are already underway. While this fire adds to the tough year independent BTCC teams have faced, the paddock’s unity shows the real heart of the sport.
