Massive Blaze Erupts at Marden Barn – 350 Hay Bales Ablaze
Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) are battling a huge barn fire on Tilden Lane, Marden that’s lighting up the night sky.
Firefighters Rush to Scene
A 999 call came in just before 9.30pm, sparking a swift response. Six fire engines, a command support unit, a bulk water carrier, and about 32 firefighters are on site tackling the inferno.
The barn, roughly 40 by 50 metres, is packed with around 350 hay bales now well alight. The cause? Still unknown.
Flames Visible for Miles
The fire can be seen from nearly six miles away. Crews are working hard to stop the blaze spreading to nearby barns containing farm equipment worth thousands of pounds.
Owners are reported to be devastated by the loss.
Defensive Tactics in Place
KFRS have adopted a defensive approach, staying on site ready to tackle any flare-ups. The fire is contained but expected to burn for several days yet.
