Have You Seen Firefighter Anthony Knott? His Jacket Could Hold Clues
Anthony Knott went missing on the night of Friday 20 December, and now CCTV footage shows the jacket he was wearing. Can you help find him?
CCTV Footage Captures Anthony’s Last Known Movements
A CCTV camera overlooking Friars Walk, facing north-northeast towards town, recorded footage from 7pm on 20 December to 4am the next day. The clock on the footage is an hour fast, so a timestamp reading 20:00 actually means 7pm.
The camera only activates with movement. A local resident claims to have this footage and says he alerted police, but officers have yet to check it. The video is split into 14 clips, each doubled in speed.
Police and Fire Services Step Up Search for Missing Firefighter
Anthony, a 33-year-old from Orpington, Kent, was last seen just before 7:30pm outside the Lamb pub on Fisher Street, Lewes. He was wearing a black long-sleeve top, dark denim jacket and jeans, and black shoes.
Sussex Police and London Fire Brigade have been scouring the Pells Pool and Pellbrook Cut areas in Lewes. Despite ongoing efforts, police urge the public not to conduct their own searches in town.
“We are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare,” said Detective Chief Inspector Alasdair Henry. “Extensive searches continue, focusing on Lewes. We are grateful for the public’s support and ask anyone with information to come forward.”
