Blazing Truck Sparks Massive Smoke Plume
A lorry erupted in flames on the B255 in Bean, right by the Bluewater shopping centre, just before 8:00 AM this morning (Thursday, November 21). The HGV was spotted blazing fiercely as thick black smoke towered high into the sky, visible from miles around.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene, deploying four fire engines and a bulk water carrier to battle the ferocious fire.
Traffic Nightmare as Roads Shut
The inferno wreaked havoc on local traffic, bringing vehicles to a grinding halt around the busy roundabout near Bluewater. Kent Police quickly closed the road to keep emergency crews safe while they doused the flames.
A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue revealed they were called out at 7:44 AM to tackle the blaze.
Drivers Urged to Steer Clear
Motorists are warned to avoid the area and find alternative routes as emergency teams work tirelessly to clear the scene. Expect delays and disruption to continue throughout the day.
