*A man was arrested on suspicion of drug offences after officers from our Gang Violence Unit stopped a vehicle in Melksham.*
At approximately 10.15pm on October 17, an Alfa Romeo was stopped in Pembroke Road due to concerns the occupants may have been involved in drug supply in the local area.
Approximately £1,500 worth of suspected class A drugs were located and a man in his 30s from Devizes was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, driving whilst unfit through drugs and possession of a class B drug.
He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Det Sgt Ted Roe said: “This arrest is an example of our commitment to targeting serious offenders who supply drugs to vulnerable people within our communities.
“We’d encourage anyone concerned about drug supply in their area to report it to police immediately.”
