Masked E-Scooter Suspect Flees After Shocking Acid Attack Outside London School

Chaos erupted at Westminster Academy in west London when a masked man hurled a suspected acid substance at two students before fleeing on an e-scooter. The terrifying attack took place at around 4:40pm on September 30 on Alfred Road.

Teen Victims Seriously Injured in Brutal Assault

  • A 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were targeted by the lone attacker.
  • The girl remains in hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.
  • The boy was also treated in hospital but his injuries aren’t life-threatening.
  • A brave 27-year-old teacher rushed in to give first aid, sustaining injuries herself but has since been discharged.
  • Two police officers attending the scene were also hospitalised as a precaution but are now discharged.

Police Hunt Tall, Slim Black Male Wearing Mask

The suspect is described as a tall, slim black male, wearing dark clothing with his face covered by a mask or balaclava. He was seen riding an e-scooter both to and from the scene, fleeing down Harrow Road after the attack.

Detective Chief Inspector Dean Purvis leading the probe said: “Officers were on routine patrol when they were flagged down to this terrible incident. Our enquiries suggest the victims were approached and sprayed before the suspect escaped.”

He praised the courage of the teacher who provided first aid despite her own injuries and warned the girl’s injuries may prove life-changing. He urged anyone with dashcam footage or information to come forward.

School Closed Amid Investigation, Police Appeal for Witnesses

Westminster Academy closed its site on Tuesday due to “unforeseen circumstances” and switched lessons online.

Anyone with details is urged to call police on 101 quoting CAD 4987/30Sep or report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police continue the urgent hunt for the e-scooter-riding acid attacker tearing through this west London community.
