Maidstone Cadets Dig In for The Queen’s Green Canopy

Maidstone’s young heroes are swapping their free time for shovels, planting over 100 trees as part of The Queen’s Green Canopy. This national initiative aims to create a leafy legacy with trees, copses, and woodlands across the UK.

100+ Trees Planted in Southons Field

On Saturday 5 March, Maidstone cadets planted a mix of Rowan, Cherry, Hawthorn, and Crab Apple trees in Southons Field, adding a splash of green to the local landscape.

Volunteer Cadets Making a Real Impact

“These young cadets have all worked very hard to play their part in creating a green legacy for future generations to enjoy in Marden,” said Assistant Cadet Manager Anne-Marie Moore. “They should be very proud of their efforts.”

The local parish council praised the cadets’ tenacity and enthusiasm and invited them back next year to check on their growing handiwork.
