Massive Fire Erupts on St Stephens Crescent

Yesterday afternoon, chaos erupted on St Stephens Crescent, Thornton Heath, as a fierce house fire broke out. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters rushed to the scene to battle the blaze.

Roof and First Floor Ravaged, But No Injuries

The furious flames gutted most of the roof and half the first floor of the end-of-terrace house. Miraculously, no one was hurt during the incident.

Swift Response Gets Fire Under Control

The emergency call came at 4.42pm. Fire crews from Norbury, Croydon, and West Norwood leapt into action. After nearly two hours of fighting the fire, it was fully extinguished by 6.21pm.

Accidental Cause: Water Meets Electrics

Investigators believe the blaze started accidentally when water came into contact with electrical wiring, sparking the devastating inferno.
