Massive cannabis farm busted in Maidstone warehouse! Nearly 1,000 plants worth £300,000 seized after gas engineers stumbled on the illegal grow during repairs.

Gas Leak Leads Police to Giant Cannabis Operation

On the evening of Wednesday, 26 February 2025, at around 8:20 pm, gas engineers repairing a suspected gas leak near St Peter’s Street, Maidstone, uncovered a huge illegal cannabis farm inside a local warehouse.

The setup included a sophisticated heating and ventilation system, indicating a highly organised and professional cultivation operation.

The drugs seized are estimated to have a street value of around £300,000 and have been confiscated ready for destruction.

Suspects Make Daring Escape

Before police arrived, two men were seen fleeing the warehouse on foot, running towards Maidstone East train station. Officers believe the pair got into a silver Mercedes near the junction of Buckland Hill and St Peter’s Street.
