It’ll boost their quality of life and help control blood sugar better.”
Who Can Get It?
The flash glucose monitoring system has been approved by local health bosses in southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Portsmouth. It’s aimed at people with Type 1 diabetes or pregnant women with Type 1 or Type 2 who test their blood sugar eight or more times daily.

Lorena Arnez, diabetes specialist at St Mary’s Hospital, reckons the device is a “lifesaver”: “Regular glucose checks are crucial. This monitor shows sugar level trends in real time, helping to avoid dangerous lows—especially overnight.”
