Blaze Rips Through Peckham Shop Roof
Ten fire engines and 72 firefighters battled a fierce roof fire on Peckham High Street last night. Flames tore through the roof of a shop with flats above, leaving it destroyed.
Massive Fire Response
The London Fire Brigade was called just before 6pm and had the blaze under control by shortly after 9am the next day. Crews from Peckham, New Cross, Old Kent Road, Brixton, and neighbouring stations rushed to the scene to tackle the inferno.
Cause of Fire Still a Mystery
Fire investigators are now working to uncover the source of the blaze. No further details have been released.
