Tragic Crash on B3091 Claims Woman’s Life
Dorset Police were called to a serious collision just after midnight on Sunday 18 December 2022. The crash happened on the B3091, south of Shaftesbury near Cole’s Lane.
Three Vehicles Involved
The smash involved a red Vauxhall Corsa, a blue Vauxhall Astra, and a blue Citroen Berlingo. Emergency services raced to the scene, but sadly the driver of the Astra, a woman in her 40s from Sturminster Newton, was pronounced dead there and then. Her family has been informed.
The Corsa’s driver, a local woman in her 20s, suffered injuries but they are not thought to be serious.
Road Closures and Investigation Underway
Road closures were set up to allow police and paramedics to do their job and examine the scene.
“Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who sadly died in this collision, and we are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances,” said Sergeant Mark Scammell of the traffic unit.
“I urge anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward to help our investigation. Thanks to the public for their patience during road closures.”
