Two Men Brutally Attacked on Ramsgate Seafront After Trying to Stop Bike Theft
Police are hunting witnesses after a violent assault on Ramsgate seafront ended with two men hurt following a bike theft attempt.
Violence Erupts Over Stolen Bike
The trouble kicked off between 7pm and 8pm on Monday 19 July 2021. The victims tried to stop a gang nicking a bicycle from a man on Harbour Parade, near Kent Place’s pedestrian zone.
One victim, a man in his thirties, was hit with a bottle. The other, in his twenties, was knocked to the ground and stamped on. The attackers fled towards a beach slip by Marina Esplanade after a group of motorcyclists stepped in to help.
Police Seek Cyclist Witness and Any Dashcam Footage
Both victims were rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
Officers want to speak to the cyclist who managed to leave the scene on his bike without trouble.
