Paddington Hospital Fire: 70 Evacuated as Blaze Hits Winsland Street
Chaos broke out early today at a Paddington hospital after a fire erupted in a building on Winsland Street. Around 70 staff and patients were rushed to safety as flames tore through a store room on the ground floor.
Massive Fire Response Launched
The London Fire Brigade sprang into action, dispatching eight fire engines and about 60 firefighters to tackle the blaze. Crews zoomed in from Paddington, North Kensington, Euston, and nearby stations following eight emergency calls.
Store Room Blaze Under Control, No Injuries
Firefighters tackled the inferno inside the hospital’s ground floor store room. Smoke spread through parts of the building, triggering the full evacuation, but thankfully, no injuries were reported.

The fire was declared under control by 12:36pm, allowing emergency crews to begin clearing the scene.

The Brigade’s Fire Investigation Team is now working to establish the cause of the blaze. Meanwhile, traffic disruptions around Winsland Street and Paddington are easing as normal operations slowly resume.
