Kent’s Key Gateway Faces Major Traffic Hassles
Kent isn’t just beaches and countryside – it’s the UK’s main peg for travel to Europe. Its roads are stuffed with holidaymakers, locals, and freight trucks. Things are worse thanks to reduced P&O ferry capacity at Dover. Since April, the M20 motorway has been running the Operation Brock truck-control system to keep lorries flowing.
There are also traffic stops at Brenley Corner (J7 on the M2 near Faversham) to funnel EU-bound heavy goods vehicles back onto the motorway and into Operation Brock.
