Kent Border Chaos Warning: No Last-Minute Tickets as Cross-Channel Travel Hits Peak
The Kent Resilience Forum (KRF) has issued a stark warning to travellers: don’t turn up at the border hoping for a spontaneous crossing. Eurotunnel and Dover ferry services are rammed for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (27-29 May), with no turn-up-and-go tickets left for these busy days.
Footie Fans Booked Up for Liverpool’s Paris Trip
Liverpool Football Club has teamed up with travel operators and KRF partners to make sure supporters heading to the UEFA Champions League final in Paris next Saturday have their ferry or Eurotunnel tickets sorted. No ticket? No trip.
Kent’s Traffic Nightmare: Beaches, History, and Freight Jams
Kent’s famous beaches, historic sites, and shopping hotspots mean its roads are always busy. Add in tonnes of freight and tourist traffic, and it’s a recipe for chaos. Things have worsened since reduced P&O ferry services at Dover kicked off Operation Brock on the M20 in April to control truck flows. Traffic controls at Brenley Corner (M2 Junction 7, Faversham) are also in place to funnel EU-bound HGVs back into the system.
Plan Ahead or Get Stuck
- Always check your route before heading out.
- Leave plenty of extra time to avoid missing your crossing.
- Carry essentials: food, drink, and any medication.
