Man in Critical Condition After Thamesmead Crash

Police are hunting for witnesses following a serious two-car collision in Thamesmead that left one man fighting for his life. The smash happened at around 8:47pm on Monday, July 15, at the busy junction of Eastern Way and the A2016.

Emergency Crews Rush to Scene

London Ambulance Service and police were on the scene quickly. Ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response vehicle, an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance all responded. Two people received urgent treatment at the site before being rushed to major trauma centres. One victim was prioritised and remains in critical condition in hospital.

No Other Serious Injuries, Police Say

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed no other serious injuries were reported. “Police were called at approximately 20:50hrs on Monday, 15 July to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars in Eastern Avenue, SE28,” they said. “The male driver of one vehicle was taken to hospital and remains in critical condition. No arrests have been made. Our enquiries continue.”
