Young Woman, 24, Vanishes Without a Trace in SE8
Maureen Gitau, 24, vanished after leaving her home on Evelyn Street, SE8, around 8pm on Monday, December 5. Despite desperate calls from family and friends, she hasn’t been heard from since. Her disappearance was reported to police five days later, on Saturday, December 10.
Last Known Links: Lewisham, Charlton, Woolwich, Deptford
Maureen is known to have connections across Lewisham, Charlton, Woolwich, and Deptford. Police are urgently searching these areas in hopes of finding her.
Police and Family Plea for Help
Detective Sergeant Clare Espline from the Missing Person Team said:
“There’s no evidence Maureen has been harmed, but the longer she stays missing and off the grid, the more worried her loved ones become. Since the report came in, we’ve spoken to people who know Maureen, tracked her phone, and checked known addresses. So far, no luck.” “If you have any information, we need you to come forward now.”
Heartbroken mother Jane added:
“It’s unbearable not having Maureen with us, especially at Christmas. She’s deeply loved and a huge part of our lives. Please, if you know where she is, let us know. Maureen – please come home.”
