Chaos on the M1: Skoda Ploughs into BMW After Police Chase
Drama unfolded between junctions 39 and 40 on the M1 at around 9.10pm when a black Skoda Fabia crashed head-on into a blue BMW 320.
Wrong Way Horror
The Skoda, which was fleeing from police after failing to stop, entered the northbound carriageway heading south—the wrong way—at Junction 40. Moments later, it collided with the oncoming BMW.
Serious Injuries After High-Speed Smash
- All three occupants of the Skoda suffered serious or life-threatening injuries.
- The BMW driver was also seriously hurt in the crash.
Police Probe and Witness Appeal
Because police were involved in the chase, the incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Complaints, as is standard procedure.
