Tragic Early Morning Death on Scotland Road
A 19-year-old man has died after being hit by a taxi in the early hours of the morning on Scotland Road. Emergency services rushed to the scene around 2.30am but sadly, the young pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Taxi Driver in Police Custody
The taxi driver stopped immediately and is cooperating fully with police as they investigate the fatal collision. Scotland Road remains closed while emergency teams and officers continue their response.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
“Our thoughts are with the family of the 19-year-old who lost his life,” said Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit. “We have launched a full investigation and are supporting the family with specially trained officers.”
“We believe a group of people in the area may have seen what happened. We urge them to come forward. We also ask anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage, or those driving nearby at the time, to get in touch.”
