Police officers were called to the Hope Tap pub in Friar Street in the town centre to break a fight up on Sunday. hours before new social distancing rules come into place.
A large number officers were seen standing outside the pub.
Police were called at 6.45 pm to break up a mass brawl that had broken out in the wateringhole.
