Police Launch Manhunt After Black BMW Sparks Two Strange Encounters in Portsmouth
Police are hunting a man linked to two suspicious incidents involving women in Portsmouth. Both victims say a man driving a black car, possibly a BMW, approached them in the early hours — but thankfully, no one was harmed.
Two Women Approached in Dead of Night
- The first incident happened at 4am on Sunday, March 19, in 1 Road, where a 22-year-old woman was approached.
- The second encounter was at 3am on Tuesday, March 21, in Burnaby Road. A 20-year-old woman was targeted.
Police Urge Caution and Offer Reassurance
Detective Inspector Linda Howard said: “While incidents like these can cause people to be alarmed, I would like to reassure members of the public that we are following several lines of enquiry and carrying out patrols in the area.”
She added: “We remind anyone out alone at night to stay vigilant, stick to well-lit areas, walk with friends, or use public transport or taxis. If you spot anything suspicious, please tell us.”
