Two Police Officers Hospitalised After M2 Crash

Two traffic cops are in hospital after their patrol vehicle collided with a lorry on the M2 this morning.

Major M2 Crash Sparks Long Tailbacks

The smash happened between junction 5 (Sittingbourne) and junction 6 (Faversham), forcing authorities to shut the busy motorway. Tailbacks have spilled all the way to junction 4.

Kent Police Reveal Details

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “A Kent Police vehicle responding to a call in the east of the county was involved in a collision with a lorry. Police and Secamb are on the scene, and two police officers are being treated for injuries.”

The carriageway is expected to remain closed for several hours.

  • All vehicles redirected onto the A249.
  • Drivers heading to the Port of Dover urged to use the M20 and A20 routes.
  • Traffic on the London-bound side currently held to allow an air ambulance to attend.
