Red Alert as Storm Darragh Blasts UK with 90mph Winds

The Met Office has slammed the UK with a red wind warning as Storm Darragh barrels in. Severe weather hits from this evening into Saturday, packing fierce winds, heavy rain, and even snow in parts.

Warning Zones: From Yellow to Red

  • Yellow rain warnings: Covering Northern Ireland, northern England, and southern Scotland.
  • Amber rain warning: Targeting parts of Wales tomorrow.
  • Snow warning: For sections of Scotland overnight.

The toughest hit areas will see gusts up to 90 mph, especially along the coasts of west and southern Wales plus the Bristol Channel. Big waves will hammer exposed shores.

Met Office Forecaster Sounds the Alarm

“The worst impacts from Storm Darragh will be felt through the early hours of tomorrow morning and throughout Saturday,”

“In the red warning zone, gusts could reach 90 mph, mainly along coasts. Disruptive weather could affect the whole country, so check forecasts and be ready, especially if out on Saturday.”
