Face-to-Face Disability Benefits Checks Still on Hold

Face-to-face assessments for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Disability Living Allowance (DLA) will stay suspended for now. The government says it’s keeping the situation under review but will continue to protect vulnerable people from coronavirus risks.

Slow Return of Reviews and Reassessments from July

Some review and reassessment work for PIP and DLA will gradually restart from July 2020. Priority will be given to cases that were already in process before the pause.

Claims Still Open – Don’t Delay!

All benefits remain open, and anyone who needs support is urged to make a claim without hesitation. Paper and phone assessments are available to keep things moving safely.

“Anyone applying or due an assessment will be contacted about next steps, which could include telephone or paper-based checks,” the department confirmed.

Some claimants may soon receive letters asking them to complete paperwork to restart their reviews or renewals. For those who’ve already returned paperwork, an Assessment Provider might get in touch directly.

The government promises to announce any changes as soon as they happen. Meanwhile, all services remain operational under these adjusted arrangements.
