Motorcyclist Suffers Life-Altering Injuries in Horror A23 Crash
Just before 6pm on Saturday, emergency crews scrambled to the A23 northbound near the B2115 Cuckfield Lane junction at Warninglid. A 61-year-old man from Colchester, Essex, crashed his black Yamaha cruiser-style bike into the central barrier.
Serious Injuries and Massive Road Closure
The rider suffered serious, life-changing injuries. The A23 was shut both ways as the Kent, Surrey and Sussex air ambulance attended the scene. However, the biker was eventually rushed by road ambulance to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
The road remained closed until 8.45pm while police investigated and cleared the scene.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Sergeant Mark Farrow of Sussex Police said: “We recognise the significant impact this would have had on motorists within the area and thank the public for their understanding and patience while we were dealing with this incident.”
