Ryanair Flight Scrapes Disaster with Just Minutes of Fuel Left
A Ryanair plane had a terrifying brush with disaster on October 3, landing with a dangerously low fuel reserve of only 220kg — enough to fly for just five or six minutes. The near-miss unfolded amid Storm Amy, which battered Britain with ferocious winds reaching 100mph and threw the country into chaos.
Storm Amy Forces Multiple Landing Attempts
The flight battled brutal weather all the way. It aborted its landing approach three times before finally managing a safe touchdown. Miraculously, no one was hurt despite the perilous conditions.
Official Investigation Launched
Ryanair reported the serious incident immediately. A company spokesman said, “As this is now subject of an ongoing investigation, which we are cooperating fully with, we are unable to comment.”
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has swung into action. They’re conducting a full review to find out why the aircraft ran so low on fuel during such a savage storm.
