Drama Off Kent Coast: Crew Member Goes Overboard from Cruise Ship
A major rescue mission is underway after a crew member reportedly went overboard from the German cruise ship AIDAperla near Ramsgate, Kent. The HM Coastguard scrambled multiple rescue teams following an alert just before 9am today.

The incident happened in the early hours of October 22 as the AIDAperla was sailing from Hamburg to Rotterdam. The German cruise line confirmed the missing crew member is male and that the ship’s captain immediately activated all rescue protocols.
“The captain and crew of AIDAperla immediately initiated all necessary rescue measures in close coordination with the local authorities,” said a company spokesperson.

Hours into the operation, the search continues with the Coastguard urging anyone who might have information or sightings to come forward. The race against time is on to bring the crew member safely back onboard.
