Second Arrest Made in Shocking Folkestone Murder

Police from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have hauled in a second suspect after a man was found dead with horrific injuries near Folkestone harbour.

Man Found With Throat Slit

Kent Police were called at 2:24am on Saturday 19 August 2017 after a local man in his fifties was discovered near the harbour wall, his throat slit. Despite ambulance crews’ efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two Men in Custody Over Brutal Killing

  • A 56-year-old man from Folkestone was arrested around 5.30am after early investigations.
  • A second man in his thirties has now also been taken into custody.

Both remain held as police continue their inquiries. Marine Parade, which was shut for hours after the attack, has now reopened.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

The victim’s family have been informed. Police urge anyone with information to call 101 quoting reference 19-0176. The hunt for answers in this deadly assault is ongoing.
