Serious Crash on A27 Portchester Road Leaves Cyclist Injured

Emergency crews rushed to the A27 Portchester Road near Fareham tonight after a cyclist was seriously hurt in a crash with a single vehicle. Police quickly sealed off a lane at the Cornaway Lane roundabout as paramedics treated the injured rider on the ground.

The smash happened just after 5pm, sparking a swift response from a rapid response paramedic unit. Traffic around the roundabout was light but slow as officers managed the scene.

Victim Gets Emergency Care

After a tense hour, an ambulance arrived to take the cyclist to hospital. An ambulance spokesperson confirmed:

“We were called at 17:15 to a road traffic collision involving a pushbike and a car on the West Street Roundabout. We sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance crew who treated a cyclist for a back injury. He was treated at the scene and has been taken to QA Hospital in Cosham.”
