Teen Seriously Injured in Horror Crash on A32 Near Wickham – Road Shut Both Ways

Police have slammed shut the A32 in both directions after a nasty smash near Wickham. A 14-year-old boy is seriously injured following a collision involving three vehicles on a notorious accident blackspot locals call “car crash alley.”

Emergency Crews Battle to Rescue Family

Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after 7.30pm tonight. Fire crews from Fareham are using cutting gear to rip off the roof of one vehicle to free a trapped family. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and South Central Ambulance’s hazardous area response team have also been scrambled.

Bad weather is making rescue efforts tougher, with heavy rain hampering the operation.

Serious Injuries and Hospitalisations

A Hampshire Police spokesman confirmed: “A 14-year-old boy has suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash. The road is currently closed northbound towards Wickham, so please avoid the area while emergency services manage the incident.”

One patient has been taken by land ambulance to Southampton General Hospital. Another adult female involved has serious but not life-threatening injuries and has also been hospitalised.

South Central Ambulance Service said: “Police called us at 7.31pm for a three-vehicle collision with two patients – a 14-year-old boy and an adult female. Both have been transported to Southampton General Hospital. The boy’s injuries are serious but not life-threatening; the female’s injuries are not life-threatening.”

Road Closure & Ongoing Investigation

  • The A32 remains closed in both directions as police and emergency teams continue the clear-up.
  • Officers have spoken to witnesses but no arrests have been made so far.
  • Motorists are advised to steer clear of the area for several hours while the scene is cleared.
